After graduating from Canadore College in the 80s with a diploma in graphic communications, I was hired as a paste-up artist and introduced to desktop publishing.

This led to my hire as a desktop layout artist with Copp Clark Pitman in Toronto, Ontario. After a company merger six years later, I worked as a proofreader for Ogilvy & Mather and eventually, as a production coordinator.

My career led to British Columbia, where I made valuable connections as a proofreader with Go Direct Marketing and finally, DDB Canada. In 2007, after company downsizing, my path as a sole proprietor commenced, and I have continued to excel as a proofreader.

The most rewarding aspect of this journey has been to watch the creative process progress from the client’s brief to the creative director’s concept, and from the copywriter’s rendition to the desktop artist’s layout.

I have enjoyed being a part of every stage of the production process, and supporting each member of the creative team.
